Georg Schlesinger Prize

The Georg Schlesinger Prize , named after the founder of modern scientific research in the fields of manufacturing technology and business administration, Georg Schlesinger , has been awarded every three years by the State of Berlin since 1979. It honors outstanding achievements from the entire field of production technology which, in addition to technological and scientific content, also have a social or humanitarian reference.

The occasion of the foundation was the 75th anniversary of the Institute for Machine Tools and Factory Management at the TU Berlin in 1979. This institute was founded by Georg Schlesinger.

The prize money has been provided by the Berlin Technology Foundation since 2003 .
