Georg Ackermann (athlete)

Georg Ackermann (born July 13, 1972 in Gernsbach ) is a former German long jumper .

He won the German championship in 1993 and 1995. He had already won the bronze medal at the Junior European Championships in Thessaloniki in 1991. At the European Indoor Championships in Paris in 1994 , Ackermann jumped to eighth place. The following year he was fourth at the World Championships in Gothenburg. At the Universiade , which was organized in Fukuoka that same year, he won the silver medal. He jumped the largest set of his career with 8.21 meters and had the same distance as the winner Kirill Sossunow , who won because of the second better distance. In 1996 Ackermann took part in the Olympic Games in Atlanta.

Ackermann started for VfB Gaggenau , LG Karlsruhe and TV Heppenheim .
