Georg Alexander Ruperti

Georg Alexander Ruperti (born December 19, 1758 in Bremervörde , † March 14, 1839 in Stade ) was a German Lutheran theologian.

Life

Ruperti was born in Bremervörde as the son of an office assistant. He studied theology and became rector in Stade, in 1809 garrison preacher and consistorial councilor in Stade, in 1811 first pastor in Dorum and in 1814 general superintendent of the general diocese of Bremen-Verden and consistorial councilor in Stade.

During his time as rector in Stade, he published a multi-volume commentary on Livius .

Ruperti was married to Elisabeth Maria Louise, née Wickhardt (1764-1836). The couple had their son Justus. Ruperti's grandson Justus Ruperti was general superintendent for Holstein based in Kiel.
