Georg Blatnik (born July 6, 1992 in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee ) is an Austrian football player .
Career
Blatnik began his career at SV Viktoria Viktring in Carinthia . In 2001 he moved to the youth department of FC Kärnten before joining the youth team at SK Austria Kärnten in 2007 .
Due to his great talent, he promptly became the goalkeeper of Austria Kärnten's second team. In the long term, he should be built up to become a goalkeeper. Blatnik was only 3rd goalie behind Andreas Schranz and Heinz Weber . He made his Bundesliga debut on April 17, 2010 in the game against FK Austria Wien . The goalkeeper played through and Austria Wien won 2-0.
After Austria Kärnten did not receive a license for the 2010/11 season, he switched to the first division for SV Grödig during the summer break . In January 2011 he switched to SK Rapid Wien in the Bundesliga on loan for half a year , but only made four appearances for the second team due to a knee operation. After returning to Grödig, he suffered a fractured tibia and fibula and was out for the entire 2011/12 season. In the summer of 2012 he moved to the Grazer AK , but had to accept its bankruptcy in October and remained without a club until the winter break. At the beginning of January 2013 he signed a contract with FC Liefering , the FC Red Bull Salzburg farm team , to replace Martin Eisl, who had left.
National team
Blatnik already played in various youth selections of the ÖFB . He made his competition debut on September 20, 2008 against Northern Ireland on the occasion of qualifying for the U-17 European Championship in Germany .
The goalkeeper is currently part of the U-19 national team and was also in the squad at the qualifying tournament for the U-19 European Football Championship 2010 , but did not play a game.
