Georg Braun (racing driver)

Georg Braun (born September 2, 1918 in Hechingen , Hohenzollernsche Lande , † 1995 ) was a German motorcycle racer .

It wasn't until after World War II that Braun began seriously to compete in motorcycle races. In the motorcycle world championship in 1953 he achieved 17th place in the 125 cm³ class of the motorcycle world championship on FB-Mondial . In the 1954 season he reached sixth place in the 250cc class on NSU . At the Swiss Grand Prix in Bremgarten this year, he finished second behind Rupert Hollaus in a rainy race .

After a serious accident at the Tourist Trophy on the Isle of Man in 1955 , Braun returned again, but ended his career a short time later and ran a motorcycle workshop in his hometown of Hechingen for many years.
