Georg Christian Forstmeyer

Georg Christian Forstmeyer (born April 13, 1740 in Weißenburg ; † April 5, 1804 in ibid. ) Was a musician and composer from the Forstmeyer family .

Life

Forstmeyer was one of 14 children of the Weißenburg town musician David Andreas Forstmeyer and his wife Eva Maria, geb. Changer. Of his siblings, Andreas Ehrenfried Forstmeyer and David Andreas Forstmeyer the Younger also worked as musicians. He attended the Latin school of the city of Weißenburg, presumably completed a music education with his father and in 1771 took over the task of the town musician and tower tower of the imperial city of Weißenburg .
