Georg Claussen (shipbuilder)

Georg Claussen (born April 14, 1877 in Bremerhaven , † March 11, 1944 in Wesermünde ) was a German shipbuilder and director of the Tecklenborg shipyard.

biography

Claussen was the son of the Bremerhaven businessman Christian H. Claussen, the brother of Georg Wilhelm Claussen , the director of the Tecklenborg shipyard . After graduating from high school and a two-year internship , he studied at the Technical University of Charlottenburg in Berlin. Two study trips took him to the USA . He then worked from 1902 to 1905 at the Reiherstieg shipyard in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg and from 1905 to 1906 at the Schichau shipyard in Danzig .

Claussen was a production engineer at the Tecklenborg shipyard from 1906. Supported by his uncle Georg Wilhelm Claussen, he rose to senior engineer, authorized signatory and deputy director within a few years. In 1919, after his uncle's death, he became director of the Tecklenborg shipyard. After the merger with AG Weser Werft, he became a board member of the newly founded Deutsche Schiff- und Maschinenbau Aktiengesellschaft (Deschimag) in Bremen.

Georg Claussen was buried in the Lehe I cemetery in Bremerhaven.
