Georg Duensing

Georg Duensing (born December 21, 1933 in Hanover ) is a German meteorologist and politician ( CDU ).

Life

Duensing attended elementary school in Hanover, Walsrode and Northeim. Until his Abitur in 1955, he then switched to the science-oriented branch of the Leibniz School in Hanover. After finishing school, he began studying physics , mathematics and geosciences in Hanover and Hamburg and completed his training as a qualified meteorologist.

He first became a scientific employee at Deutsche Lufthansa and later switched to the German Weather Service in the senior service career. Duensing was deputy head of the agro-meteorological research center in Hamburg as well as head of the department and ultimately head of the maritime meteorology department at the German Weather Service. He became a member of the board of the Harburg water supply association.

Political career

In 1968 the CDU politician was councilor and between 1968 and 1972 mayor of the municipality of Fleestedt . In 1972 he became mayor of the Fleestedt district of the Seevetal community . From the same year until 1976 he was also councilor and deputy mayor of the Seevetal community. Here he was also chairman of the CDU council group. From 1976 he was a member of the district council of Harburg .

In the tenth electoral term he was from June 21, 1982 to June 20, 1986 member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .
