Live and act

Nothing is known about Engelbrecht's youth and studies. Like his father Georg Engelbrecht the Elder , his brother Christoph Johann Conrad Engelbrecht and his cousin Johann Wilhelm Engelbrecht , he first embarked on a scientific career and taught as a law professor in Helmstedt. In 1714 he gave up his scientific career and went to Celle . There he worked after a brief activity as a councilor from 1716 until his death in 1735 as a senior appellate councilor at the court of appeal.

In his writings, which were shaped by the theory of natural law , he dealt with, among other things, criminal law and mining law .
