Georg Greuner

Georg Greuner (born March 23, 1897 in Gera , † September 24, 1978 in Baden-Baden ) was a German lawyer .

Life

Georg Greuner was the son of the Imperial Court Councilor Rudolf Greuner and his wife Elisabeth born. Silt. After graduating from the St. Thomas School in Leipzig and participating in the First World War as a lieutenant in the Royal Saxon Hussar Regiment No. 19, he studied law at the University of Leipzig . There he was promoted to Dr. jur. PhD. In 1923 he was admitted to the Leipzig Regional Court and practiced his work as a lawyer and later also as a notary together with his father-in-law, Justizrat Curt Hillig . In 1943 he was admitted as a lawyer at the Reichsgericht and in 1953 as a lawyer at the Federal Court of Justice . Here he was involved in litigation, particularly in the field of industrial property rights and copyright . So he looked in particular at the method with significantly that the policy judgments of the Federal Court on 31 May 1960, the Performance Rights led the performers ,. Since 1972 he has been practicing together with Oliver C. Brändel, a lawyer at the Federal Court of Justice. Until 1953 he was also the legal advisor to the German Association of Music Publishers. From 1953 he was chairman of the supervisory board of the Bibliographisches Institut publishing house and held this office until his death. He was also an honorary member of the Bar Senate at the Federal Court of Justice. He was married to Andrea geb. Hillig, a daughter of Curt Hillig.

Greuner was awarded the Great Federal Cross of Merit .
