Georg Heinrich Ayrer

Georg Heinrich Ayrer (born March 15, 1702 in Meiningen , † April 28, 1774 in Göttingen ) was a German lawyer.

Life

Ayrer was the son of the court confectioner and first silver servant of Duke Bernhard I. He attended the Lyceum in Meiningen.

From 1721 Ayrer studied law at the University of Jena and was able to complete this successfully. Immediately afterwards, he accompanied his noble fellow student B. von Forstern on his Grand Tour through Holland, France and Germany.

After his return, Ayrer got a job as court master with Count Ludwig Siegfried Viththum von Eckstädt . As such, he received his doctorate in 1736 at the University of Göttingen as " Doctor iuris utriusque " .

In the same year, Ayerer was appointed "ao Prof". Associated with this was the office of assessor in the law faculty of the university. Ayrer's career led him through “o. Prof. "(1737) and Councilor (1743) as" Senior of the Law Faculty of the University of Götting "in 1755.

In 1768 Ayrer was appointed "secret councilor" and in the following year he was appointed president of the historical institute. In 1773 Ayrer was appointed full professor of the law faculty. Ayrer could not hold his last office for long because he died at the beginning of the following year at the age of 72 years. He was buried in the Bartholomäusfriedhof in Göttingen.
