Georg Hofmann (* 11. July 1923 in Uffenheim , † 10 April 2012 in Ellingen ) was a German politician of the CSU . He was the last district administrator of the district Weißenburg .

Life

Georg Hofmann attended elementary school in Uffenheim, then grammar schools in Würzburg and Munich . He passed the Abitur and joined the Wehrmacht at the age of 19 . In 1946 he was released from captivity .

In 1946 he was one of the first members of the CSU. He studied law and completed his legal traineeship at the Nuremberg Higher Regional Court . After completing his doctorate , he worked for the district offices of Rothenburg and Fürth. In 1959 he ran for the office of district administrator in the Weißenburg district and succeeded Fritz Staudinger . In the first election of the new district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen, founded in 1972 after the municipal reform in Bavaria , he was subject to the non-party Karl Friedrich Zink . This had previously been the last district administrator in the Gunzenhausen district. This made Hofmann the last district administrator in the Altlandkreis Weißenburg. Hofmann, who lives in Ellingen, remained active for the CSU and in the district council of the Middle Franconia district .

Georg Hofmann was jointly responsible for founding the Altmühltal Nature Park in 1969 . There he was appointed to the honorary board.
