Georg Josias Stephan Adler

Georg Josias Stephan Adler (born October 29, 1792 in Copenhagen , Denmark , † after 1852 ) was a German provost .

Life

Georg Josias Stephan Adler was the son of the general superintendent Jacob Georg Christian Adler (1756–1834) and Dorothea Maria Lorck (1772–1804). She was related to both Caspar Aquila and to Matthias Claudius through her grandmother Birte / Brigitta von Lutten . Her ancestor Maria Lorck, born in 1566, was also an ancestor of Johannes Brahms and Theodor Storm . It was named after his grandfathers Georg Christian Adler and Josias Lorck , as well as the historian, collector and Cardinal Stefano Borgia , whom his father had met during his stay in Rome in 1781/82.

Since November 17, 1817, Adler has been an ordained catechist at St. Peter's Church in Copenhagen. On November 4, 1823 he became the second compastor (fellow shepherd) in Rellingen ( Pinneberg district ) until he was appointed provost of the Pinneberg provost in 1837 . He remained in this office until 1852.
