Georg Kastner

Georg Kastner (born March 15, 1969 in Vienna ) is an Austrian historian of Eastern Europe .

Life

From 1975 to 1979 he attended the Schottwien elementary school and from 1979 to 1987 the grammar school (linguistic branch) at the school brothers' home schools in Strebersdorf . After graduating as Dr. phil. In 2002 at the University of Vienna and his habilitation in Central European History in 2009 at the Andrássy University in Budapest , he has been teaching there at the Chair of Central European History since 2016.

He conducts research on "imperial reforms" on the concepts and ideas for reshaping the Habsburg monarchy 1900–1918 and on Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Este and the Hungarian elites.
