Georg Kaufmann (born November 22, 1955 in Bludenz ) is a Liechtenstein career advisor and politician ( FL ). He has been a member of the Liechtenstein Parliament since 2017 .

biography

Study and job

Kaufmann came from a family of teachers and grew up in Schellenberg and later in Schaan . He attended high school and then studied at the University of Friborg in Switzerland , where he graduated in 1979 as a secondary teacher for German, French, English and sports. After a stay in Scotland as a language assistant, he returned to Liechtenstein and worked as a teacher at a secondary school for almost 20 years.

At the age of 40, Kaufmann began to deal with his further professional career. This led to him completing a part-time course to become a career counselor. From 1998 to 2007 he worked as a professional and career advisor in the Werdenberg district in the canton of St. Gallen . During this time he received a diploma from the Swiss Association for Careers Advice (SVB) in 2000. From 2007 to 2014 he was head of the career guidance department at the Liechtenstein Office for Vocational Education and Training. In 2011 he became a certified trainer for the Zurich Resource Model .

In addition, Kaufmann runs the personare career counseling service together with his wife . His wife used to work as a secondary school teacher and was a member of the Schaan municipal council from 1995 to 1999.

Political career

Originally raised in a rather apolitical family, Kaufmann came into politics through his sister Christel Hilti , who was active in the Free List. In the state elections in Liechtenstein in 2005 , he ran for the first time for the Free List for a seat in the state parliament of the Principality of Liechtenstein, but could not achieve a mandate . His next candidacy in a state election was in 2017 . He achieved 1,603 votes and was thus elected to the state parliament of the Principality of Liechtenstein. Within the parliamentary group of his party, he holds the office of group spokesman.

Furthermore, in 2011 he ran unsuccessfully for the free list in the municipal elections for a seat on the Schaan municipal council.
