Georg Kerschbaumer

Georg Kerschbaumer (born July 11, 1942 in Villach , Carinthia ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ).

Life

After attending primary and secondary school, Georg Kerschbaumer learned the trade of machinist . From 1960 to 1962 he worked in a factory in Jenbach . Subsequently, he enrolled at the HTL in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee , where he studied mechanical engineering and passed his Matura in 1967 . After two years of work in his profession, he became a teacher at a vocational school in Villach in 1969 ; it stayed that way for 20 years until 1989.

1973 Kerschbaumer also went into politics when he moved as a member of his party, the SPÖ, in the council of the community Treffen am Ossiacher See . From 1979 to 1980 he briefly held the function of the community council before he was elected mayor of meetings in 1980. It stayed that way for 16 years until 1996.

As part of the 26th and 27th legislative periods, Georg Kerschbaumer sat as a SPÖ member in the Carinthian state parliament from 1989 to 1994 , before representing Carinthia as a member of the Federal Council in Vienna for almost two years from April 1994 to March 1996 .
