Ludwig Hermann Georg Kind (born January 24, 1897 in Dresden ; † February 13, 1945 there ) was a German sculptor and draftsman .

Life

Born and raised as the son of a carpenter , Georg Kind spent his school days in Dresden and took part in drawing at the Dresden School of Applied Arts . From 1915 to 1923 he studied at the Dresden Art Academy under Professor Georg Wrba . His studies were interrupted by the First World War. Georg Kind participated in the artist group Die Schaffenden . In 1923 he became a member of the Dresden Artists 'Association and later the Dresden Artists' Cooperative. Some of his works, detailed portrait busts, are in the Dresden State Art Collection in the sculpture collection . In the 1940s he was a temporary assistant professor at the Dresden Art Academy.

He died in the bombing raids on Dresden on February 13, 1945. His studio at Zirkusstraße 43 was destroyed, so his works and drawings were also destroyed.
