Georg Paul Nus (s) biegel , also Georg Peter or Nussbiegel (* 1713 in Nuremberg ; † 1776 or 1778 there ) was a German draftsman and engraver , art dealer and publisher in Nuremberg.

Life

Nussbiegel was a student of the painter and copper engraver Georg Martin Preissler in Nuremberg . He trained with Johann Balthasar Probst and Bernhard Vogel in Augsburg. From 1755 to 1786 he was listed as a copper engraver in Nuremberg and was not deleted until 1787. His works were mostly portraits after paintings by other artists but also illustrations for a Bible published by Fleischmann in 1763. Baron Adolf von Hüpsch initially planned to have his natural history of Lower Germany published and published by Nussbiegel. This was already in advance notice, but the publication was delayed so that it could only be realized by the publisher Gabriel Nicolaus Raspe after Nussbiegel's death. Two drafts for the first volume, written by Hüpsch himself, each contained a printed title page on which "Georg Paul Nussbiegel, copper engraver and art dealer on the new building in Nuremberg 1778" was printed. He had already engraved a few plates for the work.

His son is the Nuremberg engraver Johann Nussbiegel , whom he also trained himself.
