Georg Roenneberg (born October 1, 1834 in Reppen , † April 21, 1895 in Friedenau ) was a local politician from 1875 to 1892 as the community leader in the newly founded country house colony in Friedenau near Berlin .

Roenneberg attended grammar school in Guben . He gave up the law course he had begun in Berlin after one year of military service and became an official in the tax office. In 1868 he worked as an assistant in the Ministry of Public Works, in 1873 he was one of the first residents to move to Friedenau. He then worked as a secret accountant or secretary in the Prussian Ministry of Commerce. In Friedenau he worked as chairman of the association for the separation of Friedenau from Wilmersdorf .

Georg Roenneberg was elected mayor of the municipality by the municipal councilors elected for the first time on January 11, 1875 and held office until 1892. When he resigned, he was appointed elder. His successor in office, now as a full-time mayor, was his brother, Major Albert Roenneberg , from 1892 to 1902 . In 1899 he signed the unification agreement of Schöneberg and Friedenau, which then did not come into effect . The sisters Melida and Henriette Roenneberg founded a private school in their house at Moselstrasse 5 in 1873 , which was soon converted into a private girls' school and was managed by one of the sisters until 1912.

Roennebergstrasse in the Berlin district of Friedenau is named after him. The graves of the Roenneberg family are in the cemetery on Stubenrauchstrasse .
