Georg Rogge

Georg Rogge (born July 23, 1929 in Bremen ) is a German local politician. For many years he was the municipal director of what was then the largest municipality in Germany with around 53,000 residents in 1972 and later the city director of Hürth .

Life

education

Rogge studied law and economics in Hamburg and Tübingen , as well as with a Fulbright scholarship for three quarter work sciences in Ohio . He received his doctorate in 1956.

First political stations

After successfully completing his studies and passing the second state examination in 1958, he began his career in the administration of his hometown Bremen. He first worked in the credit department of the Bremen Senator for Finance Wilhelm Nolting-Hauff . Later he took over the management of the business development and industrial settlement departments . In 1964 he moved to Minden , where he became first alderman and treasurer . Community and city director in Hürth

In 1972 he moved to Hürth. On June 21, 1972, he was elected by the Hürth Council to be the municipal director of what was then the largest municipality in Germany. In the years that followed, he played a key role in the further development of Hürth, which culminated in the award of town charter in 1978. In the same year he was elected city director. He was re-elected to this office until he gave up his office prematurely in 1991. During his tenure, the new council and community center and the construction of new residential and commercial areas spurred the city's growth. Rogge was also involved in local association policy, so in 1988 he was elected Vice President of the Association of Cities and Towns in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Further work

After resigning as city director, he first worked as managing director of the non-profit housing association Rhein-Erft, based in Hürth, and then for a few years as a lawyer. He stayed in Hürth and, as a long-time SPD member, was chairman of the arbitration commission of the SPD Rhein-Erft .
