Georg Satzinger

Georg Satzinger (born July 29, 1956 in Dinkelsbühl ) is a German art historian .

Satzinger studied art history , classical archeology and German at the University of Tübingen , where he received his doctorate in 1988. Since 1997 he has been teaching as a professor at the University of Bonn . From 2005 to 2013 he was first chairman of the Association of German Art Historians . His research interests are the architecture and sculpture of the Italian Renaissance (especially Michelangelo ), the architecture in southern Germany in the 18th century and the prints of the 15th and 16th centuries (especially Dürer ).

Georg Satzinger has been a full member of the North Rhine-Westphalia Academy of Sciences and the Arts since 2011 .
