Georg Spackeler

Georg Spackeler (born February 1, 1883 in Hanover , † June 6, 1960 in Paris ) was a German mining scientist .

Spackeler was initially a mining assessor from 1911 and became mine director the following year. From 1917 he worked as a mining consultant at the Berlin War Office and obtained his doctorate in Berlin in 1918 with the thesis on the effect and execution of lower ropes . In 1919 he was appointed professor of mining science at the Clausthal-Zellerfeld mining academy . From 1925 he taught and researched as a professor for mining and mining economics at the Technical University in Breslau . From 1945 until his death in 1960 he worked as a professor of mining science at the Bergakademie Freiberg . In 1950 he became a full member of the Saxon Academy of Sciences in Leipzig and in 1953 a full member of the German Academy of Sciences in Berlin . Spackeler died in Paris in 1960 and was buried in the Donatsfriedhof in Freiberg.
