Georg Spencer Spitz
Georg Spencer Spitz (* 1892 ; † October 13, 1960 in Munich- Bogenhausen ) was a Munich banker .
Life
During the Second World War , Spitz was employed in the marketing department of Aktion Bernhard . After May 8, 1945, Spitz lived with Fritz Schwendt in the villa of Luitwin von Boch (1906–1988) in Mettlach . Spitz had good contacts with Charles Michaelis, an employee of the Counter Intelligence Corps . This made sure that the banker August Lenz was released from the correctional facility in Munich . As a result, Spitz became a partner in Karl Wurzinger's “Aryanized” banking house, which had operated as August Lenz & Co. since 1937 . His wife Erika, who had an impeccable certificate of good conduct , became a partner in the Baden-Baden and Bad Neuenahr casinos and owner of the Aschau stud in Baierbach after Spitz's death .
With Otto Schmitz and Lenz, Spitz dominated the Munich casino consortium , which was involved in a monopoly concession for casinos in Bavaria . In 1951, a check for 50,000 German marks to Franz Michel did not bring a majority for a corresponding law in the Bavarian state parliament . In the cabinet II Hoegner 1955 Gaming Act was enacted that the monopoly of Munich casino consortium endangered. A contract was signed with Karl Freisehner, which promised him an interest-free loan of 260,000 German marks in the event that no casinos are set up in Bavaria, in particular no casino licenses are granted.
