Georg Volmann

Georg Volmann (* 1611 in Klotten ; † June 12, 1668 in the same place) was a German Benedictine and first provost of the Benedictine provost of the Brauweiler Abbey in Klotten.

Georg Volmann, whose school education is unknown, entered the Brauweiler monastery in 1634. He celebrated his first Holy Mass in 1646. From 1638 he worked for almost thirty years as director of the Dinghof and as overseer of the monastic properties in Cond , Greimersburg , Kaifenheim , Klotten, Landkern , Mesenich , Pommern and Wirfus . In addition to 120,000 vines in vineyards on the Moselle , the monastery owned approximately 262 acres of arable land. His home in Klotten was a private residence that included a cook and a servant. Today the former Brauweiler Propstei in Klotten belongs to a private winery.
