Georg Wilhelm Detharding (born May 24, 1797 in Rostock ; † June 30, 1882 there ) was a German physician.

Life

Georg Wilhelm Detharding was the son of the Rostock physician and botanist Georg Gustav Detharding (1765–1839) and his wife Marie Elizabeth Sophie, b. Tarnow (1774-1859). From 1815 he studied medicine at the University of Rostock , where he was awarded a Dr. med. PhD was on the subject of De Syphilide neonatorum .

From 1820 he practiced as a doctor in Rostock and from 1821 was senior physician of the Grand Ducal Musketeer Battalion. In this capacity he took part in the war against Denmark in 1848 . Afterwards he worked again as a doctor and as a city ​​physician . On March 12, 1821 he was elected with the academic surname Frenellius as a member (matriculation no. 1209) of the German Academy of Natural Scientists Leopoldina .
