Georg Payer

Georg Zahler (born October 1, 1879 , † November 30, 1957 ) was a German local politician of the NSDAP .

Career

Payer was a foreman by profession. He was initially a member of the NSDAP from 1921 to 1923 and rejoined the party in 1929. In the same year he was elected to the city council of the Upper Bavarian city of Rosenheim . In 1931 he founded the local SA reserve.

He was initially second mayor under Mayor Hans Knorr . When he went on sick leave in February 1934, Zahler took over the official business and, after Knorr's early retirement, was elected honorary first mayor on July 5, 1934. As part of an administrative reform, he received the title of mayor from June 1, 1935. On February 15, 1938, he left office at his own request.
