Georg Zitzer

Georg Zitzer (born January 9, 1870 in Aulenhausen ; † July 8, 1932 in Kleinheubach ) was a German teacher and local researcher.

Zitzer was born the son of a teacher and grew up in Dornholzhausen . After graduating from school, he followed his father and trained as a teacher at the teachers' college in Usingen between 1887 and 1890 . In the course of his activity he held teaching positions in Erbach , Schupbach , Niedereisenhausen and Battenberg .

In addition to his school work, Zitzer appeared as a local researcher and poet. He wrote several stories on the customs in Central Hesse and numerous treatises on the history of the Biedenkopf district . He also left an extensive collection of German folk songs .
