Georg von Andlau
Georg von Andlau (* around 1390 in Colmar ; † March 7, 1466 in Basel ) came from the Alsatian noble family of those von Andlau . Around 1416 he became canon in Basel. 1425 was the Basel cathedral chapter Scholaster, 1427-1431 dean and 1432-1466 dean .
In 1442 he was also provost of the Lautenbach collegiate monastery in Alsace . He took part in the Council of Basel . In 1460 he was appointed the first rector of the University of Basel by Prince-Bishop Johann von Venningen .
