Lautenbach is a French commune with 1,511 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haut-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Thann-Guebwiller , the canton of Guebwiller and is a member of the Région de Guebwiller municipality .

geography

The municipality of Lautenbach is located in the Lauch Valley in the Vosges , about 30 kilometers southwest of Colmar . The 1272 m high Petit Ballon (Kahler Wasen) rises northeast of Lautenbach . The municipality is part of the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park .

The districts of Schweighouse and Saint-Gangolf belong to Lautenbach .

history

From 1871 until the end of the First World War , Lautenbach belonged to the German Empire as part of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine and was assigned to the Gebweiler district in the Upper Alsace district .
