Goldbach-Altenbach is a French commune with 286 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haut-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ). It was created in 1972 through the merger of the municipalities of Goldbach and Altenbach and is a member of the Vallée de Saint-Amarin municipal association .

The municipality in the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park is ten kilometers north of Thann at the southern foot of the Grand Ballon , the highest peak in the Vosges at 1424 m .
