Masevaux-Niederbruck ( Alsatian Màsmìnschter-Nìderbrucke ) is a French commune with 3,797 inhabitants (as of 2013) in the Haut-Rhin department in the Grand Est region . The place belongs to the Arrondissement Thann-Guebwiller and the canton Masevaux . The municipality is also part of the Vallée de la Doller et du Soultzbach municipal association founded in 2001 .
The municipality was created with effect from January 1, 2016 as Commune nouvelle through the union of the previous municipalities of Masevaux and Niederbruck . The town hall ( Hôtel de ville ) of the new municipality is located in the building of the previous town hall of Masevaux.
geography
Masevaux-Niederbruck, on the Doller River , is located in the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park around 26 kilometers west of Mulhouse in the south of the Haut-Rhin department on the border with the Territoire de Belfort department . The community consists of the settlements of Houppach, Masevaux, Niederbruck and Stoecken as well as individual farmsteads. Lac Bleu is located in the southern part of the municipality . Large parts of the community are forested. The highest point in the municipality is the Rossberg in the far north.
Neighboring municipalities are Moosch in the north, Bourbach-le-Haut in the northeast and east, Lauw and Le Haut Soultzbach in the southeast, Leval and Rougemont-le-Château (both in the Territoire de Belfort) in the southwest, Lamadeleine-Val-des-Anges ( in the Territoire de Belfort) in the west and Kirchberg in the northwest.
