George of Posern

Georg von Posern (born March 26, 1844 in Pulsnitz ; † May 25, 1924 ) was a Saxon manor owner, court official and parliamentarian.

Life

Georg von Posern was born as the son of the manor owner, monastery governor and member of the Saxon state parliament Curt Ernst von Posern and Linna nee. from Schlegel. After attending Blochmann's grammar school in Dresden, he studied at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . In 1865 he became a member of the Corps Borussia Bonn . After completing his studies, he became the owner of the Waltersdorf manor near Berga / Elster (now part of the Mohlsdorf-Teichwolframsdorf community in Thuringia). He was monastery bailiff of the St. Marienstern monastery , grand ducal Saxon castle captain and royal Saxon chamberlain .

From 1887 to 1892 von Posern was a member of the first chamber of the Saxon state parliament as an authorized representative of the Wildenfels rule . He was a participant in the Franco-German War and major a. D. He was married to Lili von Schönberg -Pötting.
