Waltersdorf (formerly officially: Waltersdorf b. Berga / Elster ) is a district of the rural community Mohlsdorf-Teichwolframsdorf in the district of Greiz in Thuringia .

location

Waltersdorf is located in the Thuringian Slate Mountains on an east-facing plateau of the Elsterniederung sloping to the west near Berga / Elster . The district located in rural areas can be reached via the district road 210 and the federal road 175 .

history

The village was first mentioned on November 7, 1358. The place is based on 1378.

Church and war memorial

The former Waltersdorf manor was connected to the Rüßdorf manor when it belonged to the Wolfersdorf family until 1573. Then the owners changed more often until 1611. From then on, the Posern family was the owner until it was expropriated in 1945.

Sports history

In the 1920s and 1930s, the summit of the Wachberg was used for gliding.
