Sorge-Settendorf is a district of the rural community Mohlsdorf-Teichwolframsdorf in the district of Greiz in Thuringia .

Sorge is located northwest of Teichwolframsdorf on Landesstraße 2338, a little off the beaten track in the Thuringian Slate Mountains . Like Zaderlehde, Settendorf is the neighboring village. The fragmented location of the places once served the more effective cultivation of the humus and fine earth-rich soils of these locations. The state road 2338 leads to Teichwolframsdorf.
history
Sorge was first mentioned in 1437 and Settendorf on February 22, 1448. The farms or hamlets were and are characterized by agriculture. Due to the uranium mining of SDAG Wismut , parts of the village had to give way to the Culmitzsch opencast mine . In 1951, the center of Sorge-Settendorf disappeared with 21 houses, including three restaurants, a trucking shop, blacksmith, glazier and farmers. Johannes Weiser, who was affected by this as a youngster and former Head of Building from Greiz, organized an exhibition in 2007 in the Sorge-Settendorf church, which met with great interest among the population and attracted visitors from far away. Central German broadcasting through radio and television reports as well as large parts of the Thuringian press reported on it in detail.
Sorge and Settendorf were incorporated into Teichwolframsdorf on January 1, 1974 and became the Sorge-Settendorf district of the Mohlsdorf-Teichwolframsdorf community on January 1, 2012.
