Georg von Schlieben (bailiff)

Georg von Schlieben († 1521 ) was bailiff in several towns in Lower Lusatia and founder of the Saxon line of the von Schlieben family (Vetschau).

Life

He was a son of Georg von Schlieben, lord of Nordenburg and Gerdauen in Prussia and military leader in the Teutonic Order and Katharina von Kremitten. Brothers were Hans, Dietrich and Eustachius.

Georg von Schlieben was lord of Hohndorf and Radeburg in Saxony. In 1496 he became bailiff of Beeskow , 1502 of Senftenberg , 1508 administrator of Sagan and 1516 captain of Cottbus and Peitz .

Marriage and offspring

Georg von Schlieben was married to Katharina von Schleinitz. Children were
