George A. Castor

George Albert Castor (born August 6, 1855 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania , †  February 19, 1906 there ) was an American politician . Between 1904 and 1906 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

George Castor attended public schools in his home country. He then worked in the clothing industry. He got into the tailoring business and ran successful tailoring shops in New York City , Boston and Philadelphia. Politically, he joined the Republican Party . In 1892 he tried unsuccessfully to be nominated for the congressional elections. For 15 years he was a board member of his party in Philadelphia.

After the death of MP Henry Burk , Castor was elected as his successor to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC at the by-election due for the second seat of Pennsylvania , where he took up his new mandate on February 16, 1904. After being re-elected, he could remain in Congress until his death on February 19, 1906 .
