George "Geordie" Anderson (born January 6, 1877 in Kilmarnock , Scotland , † May 20, 1930 in Canada ) was a Scottish football player on the position of center runner . He played once for the Scottish national football team and was with FC Kilmarnock in the Scottish Cup final of 1898 .

Career

George Anderson played most of his career in southwest Scotland for FC Kilmarnock . Anderson reached the Scottish Cup final of 1898 with the Killies , which was lost to the Glasgow Rangers . In the same year he was second division champion with the club. Anderson played his last game for Kilmarnock on January 4, 1909 (0-4 against Third Lanark ), earlier in the season the veteran player was given a benefit game.

In 1901 Anderson played an international match for Scotland during the British Home Championship 1900/01 against Ireland which ended 11-0. To date it is the highest victory of the Scottish national team. In 1901 (against Ireland ) and 1902 (against England ) he also represented the Scottish Football League in league comparisons.
