George Edward Rueger (born September 23, 1929 in Framingham , Massachusetts , United States , † April 6, 2019 in Worcester ) was an American clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Worcester .

Life

George Edward Rueger was ordained a priest on January 6, 1958 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Worcester and titular bishop of Maronana on January 16, 1987 . The Bishop of Worcester, Timothy Joseph Harrington , ordained him episcopally on February 25 of that year ; Co- consecrators were Bernard Joseph Flanagan , Old Bishop of Worcester, and John Aloysius Marshall , Bishop of Burlington .

On January 25, 2005, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
