George Frederick Stout

George Frederick Stout (GF Stout) (born January 6, 1860 in South Shields , † August 18, 1944 in Sydney ) was an English philosopher and psychologist.

George Frederick Stout studied and taught philosophy and psychology at Cambridge University . From 1891 to 1920 he was editor of the philosophical journal Mind . He was President of the Aristotelian Society from 1899 to 1904 . His students included GE Moore and Bertrand Russell . He has also taught at the University of Aberdeen , the University of Oxford and the University of St Andrews . In 1903 he was elected a member of the British Academy .

George Frederick Stout died in Australia in 1944 .
