George Friedrich von Rockhausen , modernized Georg Friedrich von Rockhausen , (* 1673 ; † May 11, 1752 in Obhausen ) was a royal-Polish and electoral-Saxon district commissioner in the Thuringian district as well as heir, feudal lord and court lord on Obhausen and Albersroda .

Life

He came from the Thuringian noble family von Rockhausen . After his father's death in 1700, he reached an agreement with his brothers to divide the inheritance. For 12,500 guilders he took over the former Milckau manor in Obhausen-St. Johannis with two hereditary hooves. This estate was in the Duchy of Saxony-Weißenfels and the Principality of Querfurt. With the childless death of Duke Johann Adolph von Sachsen-Weißenfels, these lords fell to the Electorate of Saxony . As district commissioner in Thuringia , he was previously in the service of the King of Poland and Elector of Saxony. In 1742, however, he got into professional trouble because, as district commissioner, he allowed himself to issue an order to the Freyburg office because of a royal title , which the officials did not see as his due.

After the death of his father, he had inherited a share in the Kirchscheidungen manor, which he sold to Levin Friedrich von der Schulenburg for castle and church divisions.

Shortly before his death, Rockhausen suffered a severe blow of fate. A major fire destroyed the court and farm buildings of his manor in Obhausen in November 1750. For the planned reconstruction, 1,200 guilders were estimated. But he did not live to see it, because he died at the age of 74. His burial took place on May 16, 1752 in the presence of Pastor Caspar Weitze in the cemetery in Obhausen. His only son, Friedrich August von Rockhausen, who had previously been councilor in Saxony-Weißenfels, became his fiefdom heir. But he did not keep his father's ruined estate in Obhausen for long, but sold it to his brother-in-law, the former colonel in the Kgl, on October 28, 1753. Prince Clementic Infantry Regiment Johann Friedrich von Nostitz. He died childless on March 8, 1770 in Obhausen and, according to the will of 1756, appointed the children and grandchildren of his brothers as heirs.

The Erfurt writer Sidonia Hedwig Zigarunemann wrote the wedding poems on the occasion of the wedding on October 8, 1736 in Obhausen Castle: Since now the Reichsfreyherr Stettner von Grabenhoff, with his bride the beautiful Fraulein von Rockhausen is married with a lot of pleasure and on this marriage.
