George Henry Goulding (born November 17, 1885 in Kingston upon Hull , England , † February 3, 1966 in Toronto ) was a Canadian athlete .

At the Olympic Games in 1908 , George Goulding competed in three disciplines. In walking over 3500 meters, he finished fourth. In walking over 10 miles, he gave up in the preliminary fight. In the marathon , he finished 22nd in 3:33:26 hours.

Four years later at the Olympic Games in 1912 , he won the preliminary battle in the 10,000-meter track in front of the Briton Ernest Webb . In the final, Webb was the only one who could reasonably follow Goulding's pace and won silver. Goulding won gold in 46: 28.4 minutes, the first official world record on this route.
