George Grigoriu

George Grigoriu (born April 8, 1927 in Brăila , † February 23, 1999 in Bucharest ) was a Romanian composer , musician and songwriter .

Life

George Grigoriu grew up with his brothers in his hometown of Brăila. In childhood he learned the piano, the guitar and the violin. He later studied at the National Music University in Bucharest . He then founded the Trio Grigoriu with his two brothers Angel and Cezar and successfully toured Romania in the early 1960s. At the same time, he also composed film music for films such as Liebe bei Null Degrees , Die Lederstockferzählungen and The Actor and the Wild , working with directors such as Francisc Munteanu , Manole Marcus and Doru Nastase .

On February 23, 1999, Grigoriu died at the age of 71 from a stroke in the Elias University Hospital in Bucharest.
