George Pratt

George Pratt (born October 13, 1960 in Beaumont , Texas ) is an American comic book artist , illustrator, artist and author.

Life

In 1980 Pratt went to New York to study art at the Pratt Institute . His first graphic novel, Enemy Ace: War Idyll , won almost every major award in comic literature. Numerous art and sketch books, comic works ( Batman , Sandman, etc. ), illustrations and photo series for magazines ( Argosy ), as well as various solo exhibitions followed.

Most recently, he worked for Marvel on the four-part miniseries: Wolverine : Netsuke , for which he received the coveted Eisner Award .

His impressionistic, painterly style is reminiscent of draftsmen such as: Kent Williams , Phil Hale or Ashley Wood .

George Pratt currently resides in Chapel Hill , North Carolina .
