George Rodrigue
George Rodrigue (born March 13, 1944 in New Iberia , Louisiana , † December 14, 2013 in Houston , Texas ) was a Cajun artist from Louisiana.
life and work
After graduating from boys' school, he studied art at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. He became known for several posters at various important music festivals, portraits of politicians such as Ronald Reagan and his Blue Dog pictures, which were used in the art series for Absolut Vodka. These are one of the namesake for the political Blue Dog Coalition .
