Georges Borgeaud

Georges Borgeaud (born July 27, 1914 in Lausanne , † December 6, 1998 in Paris ) was a French-speaking Swiss writer .

Life

Georges Borgeaud attended secondary school in Aubonne and the Collège of the Abbey of Saint-Maurice , which he left in 1933 for financial reasons. Then he wanted to become a monk, but after six months changed his mind and afterwards worked as a teacher and private tutor. Finally he did an apprenticeship as a bookseller and left Switzerland in 1946 to establish himself in Paris. He lived there until his death at 59 rue Froidevaux, on the seventh floor. In 1952 he published his first novel Le Préau , which was awarded the Prix ​​des Critiques . Georges Borgeaud died on December 6, 1998 in his apartment on Rue Froidevaux in Paris, after asking to be kindly left alone.

The estate of Georges Borgeaud is kept in the Swiss Literary Archives in Bern .
