Georges Gaudy
Georges Gaudy (born October 6, 1872 in Saint-Josse-ten-Noode , † 1940 in Brussels ) was a Belgian painter, etcher and poster artist of Art Nouveau and a cyclist .
Nothing is known about his artistic training, but the professional quality of his works suggests that he was not self-taught .
He mainly dealt with advertising posters for bicycle manufacturers and the automotive industry. He also created portraits of women in oil painting. He was also a successful cyclist and won several awards.
Some of his works show features of luminism . He took part in Belgian art exhibitions.
Gaudy was a member of the Société des Aquafortistes Belges and the Cercle Artistique et Littéraire de Bruxelles . He was based in Brussels and Linkebeek .
