Georges Valance

Georges Valance (* 1942 in Corcieux ) is a French business journalist .

Life

Georges Valance attended the Lycée Louis-le-Grand and studied at the Sorbonne . Valance worked as a journalist for the weekly magazine L'Express , was the editor-in-chief of the magazine La Vie Financière and from 2002 was editor-in-chief of the monthly magazine L'Expansion .

Valance has written political biographies on Adolphe Thiers , Georges-Eugène Haussmann and Valéry Giscard d'Estaing and a number of historical studies. He has been writing about Franco-German relations for twenty years . In a study published in 2013, he found that the aversion to Germany was no longer just an issue for ordinary French people, but that Germanophobia had gripped the - left - elite.
