Georgi Nikolajewitsch Munblit
Georgi Nikolajewitsch Munblit ( Russian Георгий Николаевич Мунблит ; scientific transliteration Georgij Nikolaevič Munblit ; born August 11, 1904 in Zurich ; died 1994 ) was a Soviet writer , screenwriter and literary critic .
Life
Georgi Munblit was born in Zurich, Switzerland . When and why his parents went to Russia is unknown. He spent his youth in Tbilisi , where his literary activities also began. He graduated from the Historical-Ethnological Department of the Literary Faculty of Moscow State University (MSU) in 1929. He published since 1925. During the war he worked as a journalist and publicist . Munblit worked with Ilf, J. Petrow , Bagrizki , Schklowski and Soschtschenko . Yevgeny Petrow (1903–1942) wrote several scripts with Georgi Munblit after the death of his partner Ilf . Munblit's memoirs appeared under the title Tales of Writers (first 1962). For the black book on the Holocaust and the crimes of the Wehrmacht in the Soviet Union , he prepared some descriptions for printing.
He wrote literary-critical articles on IE Babel , BA Pilnjak , WA Kawerin , WS Grossman , I. Ilf and J. Petrow , LM Leonow and others. Collections of short stories and essays appeared under the titles Dewjaty kwartal ("Ninth Quarter", 1958) and Simni den ("Wintertag", 1964).
Georgi Munblit died in 1994. He is buried in Moscow .
