Georgi Petkow ( Bulgarian Георги Стоянов Петков ; also Georgi Stoyanov Petkov written; born April 14, 1976 in Pazardzhik ) is a Bulgarian football goalkeeper .

Career

He began his career at FC Hebar Pazardzhik (Bulgarian Хебър Пазарджик) and came to Levski Sofia in 2001 via Slavia Sofia .

At Levski he was the undisputed number 1 until the European league game against Sporting Lisbon on September 30, 2011 and played in the UEFA Champions League in 2005/06 , but was eliminated with his club in the preliminary round. After the game in Lisbon, which Levski lost 5-0, he was seen as the main culprit and sorted out by the squad. In January 2011 he was able to terminate his contract with Levski amicably and switched to the Cypriot Enosis Neon Paralimni during the winter break of the 2010/11 season . In summer 2012 he returned to Slavia.

National team

Georgi Petkow made his first appearance for the Bulgarian national team in 2005 and has since played eleven games. He is currently the second goalkeeper behind Dimitar Ivankov .
