Georgi Cherkelov ( Bulgarian Георги Черкелов ; born June 25, 1930 in Chaskovo , † February 19, 2012 in Sofia ) was a Bulgarian actor.

Life

First, Cherkelov studied law for three years at the University of Sofia . He then moved to the Sofia Theater School, which he graduated in 1956. Cherkelov was active both as a theater and film actor. He began his stage career at the Wraza Theater and later worked at the Sofia National Theater. From 1985 to 1990 he worked at the Plewen Theater . He often appeared in Shakespeare plays. He became known through a variety of film roles.

Cherkelov was awarded the Dimitrov Prize .
